John Carlin to Discuss Cybersecurity Law and Public-Private Collaboration at RSA Conference

Cybersecurity & Data Protection Co-Chair John Carlin will moderate a seminar and participate in a panel discussion at the premier cybersecurity conference RSA 2025. The seminar, “Cybersecurity Law: Risk, Resiliency & Compliance,” will offer a crash course in legal requirements and compliance strategies required to meet rising cybersecurity expectations. John will be joined by Ari Schwartz, cyber director at Venable; Nasrin Rezai, chief information security officer at Verizon; Miriam Wugmeister, partner at Morrison Foerster; and Brad Maiorino, chief information security officer at RTX Corporation.

The panel discussion, “Countering China’s ‘Typhoon’ Threats Targeting U.S. Critical Infrastructure,” will explore how public-private collaboration, involving cutting-edge industry insight and government coordination, is essential to detect, disrupt and defend against evolving cyber threats targeting western infrastructure. He will be joined by Brett Leatherman, deputy assistant cyber director at the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Tim Maurer, senior director of global cybersecurity policy at Microsoft; Wendi Whitmore, senior vice president at Palo Alto Networks; and Marc Raimondi, chief of staff at Silverado Policy Accelerator.

The conference will take place in San Francisco. John’s panel will take place on April 28 at 1:10 p.m. PT/4:10 p.m. ET, and his seminar will take place on April 29 at 1:15 p.m. PT/4:15 p.m. ET.
